Moggill-Bellbowrie desperately needs a new high school!
Dear Minister Grace, The Moggill-Bellbowrie area needs a new public high school. Our area has densified and grown, but we're not getting the infrastructure and services we need to meet the demand. A new high school in the area would directly support the suburbs of Moggill, Bellbowrie, Anstead, Pullenvale, Pinjarra Hills, while easing enrolments at the already maximum-capacity Kenmore and Indooroopilly state high schools. We have local primary schools, but currently the closest high school is in Kenmore, a long trip up the already very congested Moggill Road. A new high school in Moggill-Bellbowrie would be in walking distance of hundreds of students, and support our suburbs as they continue to grow. This would take cars off Moggill Road and increase the liveability of our area. The demand for this crucial school will only grow over time. I therefore request that the Queensland government: 1. Commit to building a new high school for Moggill-Bellbowrie urgently; 2. Immediately commence an investigation into potential sites and their feasibility, with candidate sites identified for community feedback by the next Queensland State Budget in June 2024. I urge you to not neglect the needs of the Moggill-Bellbowrie area.
